The twitter thing was all still pretty new to me a year ago. I quickly started making a lot of new connections, and more importantly, new friends. In the Fall/Winter of 2012 I started talking to my new buddy Matt (@oneputtblunder) about the idea of traveling to Scottsdale to visit him, go to the Waste Management Open and play some golf. It didn’t take long before the wheels started turning and plans were being made. Courtney (@lilwolp) and I were going to make the trip and experience our first “Tweetup”.

Cody (@golfingblademan) and Levi (@LeviSlings) decided to join us. We played 2 rounds of golf, drank our fair share of booze and spent a day at the tournament. Howard (@HGluckman) even came out to meet us for dinner one night. Making that trip was one of the best decisions I have ever made. I ended up coming away with friendships that will last a lifetime. I didn’t want to come home. By the way, #16 is a PARTY!
It wasn’t long after we got home that we started talking and decided it needed to happen again. More people were interested in joining in and soon we started planning our Atlantic City outing. This time it was going to be 12 of us. There was golf, plenty more booze, and we traded in a tournament for gambling. Again, it was a trip that I will never forget.

I feel so fortunate to be able to connect with so many people who share a common love. Every single person that I have been able to meet in real life has been awesome. So, I’ve got to keep this thing going. In a few weeks we will be back in Scottsdale, and even more people will be joining us this year. In April, we will be heading to Hilton Head Island to visit the lovely Katy (@iwaggle), enjoy some golf, and spend some time at Harbor Town for the RBC Heritage Tournament. At the end of May we will be making our way to Zanesville, Ohio to play some golf with some more great tweeps, and in late September we will be heading back to Atlantic City. I hope to meet more of you in 2014! You know where to reach me.
This post wouldn’t be complete without mentioning the fact that I also got to hang out with two of the nicest guys on twitter a couple of months ago. Thanks John (@4eyesJohnny) and David (@leaveit4later).Left to Right: John (@4eyesJohnny), Me, David (@leaveit4later)
